Notes

Anna Hess

Married Christian Meyley, lived in Manheim Township and in Virginia. - 4 children. Note the various spellings: Mylin, Meiley, and Meyley. The John (Hans) Hess family source lists her birth "abt. 1720."

John Hess

John probably went to Warwick Twp. in 1735 with Jacob. Married, in Warwick Twp.

Barbara Hess

Married Samuel Boyer 1733-1785 in Byerland, his second wife. They lived on what is now the James H. Hess farm. He has the original Penn deed and subsequent deeds. Conestoga Twp. (Date of writing 1966 - Obtained from Joanne Louise Hess Siegrist in 1994.)

Barbara was named in the will of her mother Magdalena Hess (Will Bi. "B" Vol. 1, pg. 522). No children of Barbara are mentioned in her mother's will; and no mention of any children of Barbara was Known in the will of her brother, Christian Hess. However, he willed 100 pounds to "heirs of his deceased sister, Barbara." This would lead one to believe she had children.

John Houser

Supposedly died of Tuberculosis in Harrisburg. (My source lists another brother by the name of John who died in 1789, killed by Indians in Martinsburg. Obviously there is confusion somewhere.)

Spinster but in late life married Jacob Shup, Paxton Twp. (Irvin David Hess lists his name as George Shup.)
