Dr. Amos B. Kendig was one of the best known Methodist cleargymen in New England.
Dr. Kendig was born in Lancaster county, Penna., in 1830, removing to Iowa when a young man. Hi at first studied law, but changed to the ministry and was ordained in 1852. In the Civil War he served for a time as chaplain of the 9th Iowa regiment.
