Rev. John Landis Hess

old Hess family cem.

Minister of the Old Mennonite Church - ordained in 1800. John and Esther owned 120 acres of Hess Homestead tract and lived in the old Hess log house. They put the second floor on the log house. They held church in the log house as well as at the neighboring stone house where John's sister, Elizabeth, married to Daniel Burkholder, lived.

Immigrated by 1719. Received a suvey on Beaver Creek 22 October 1729. Willed to grandson Isaac, son of Henry, brother of Abraham and John. Willed 1/3 of estate to children of Elizabeth; Isaac, Jacob, and John
