The original Kendig plantation was situated directly east of present-day Millwood Road, and between Kendig Road and Penn Grant Road. Twenty five acres were located south of Penn Grant Road where it is thought that the original house was located. In 1775, Martin Kendig, grandson of pioneer Martin Kendig, received the original homestead.
